CBC/Radio-Canada's
2010-2011 Annual Report
This year’s theme, Yours in Every Way, highlights our commitment to deepen our relationship with Canadians through our new five-year strategic plan Everyone, Every way.
"Thanks to the hard work of our people, CBC/Radio-Canada achieved the goals of its two-year financial Recovery Plan, balancing its budget for 2010-2011," notes Hubert T. Lacroix. "This has allowed us to move to the next step in the Corporation’s evolution with our strategic plan."
Everyone, Every Way has three strategic thrusts. Canadians can expect even more from their national public broadcaster in terms of the national spaces that reflect the Canadian experience, the regional spaces that knit communities together, and the digital spaces where they can engage in their own personalized way.
"The plan defines our way forward in the midst of a changing media landscape driven by new technologies, demographic shifts and flourishing social networks" adds Mr. Lacroix. "Although we can’t be all things to all people, our new strategy ensures we will mean something very special to every Canadian."
This year, CBC/Radio-Canada is also looking to its past, as it celebrates its 75th anniversary. A pioneer in broadcasting technologies and services, today’s CBC/Radio-Canada offers more than 30 services, allowing audiences to access content anywhere, any time.
The annual report is a key instrument of accountability for the Corporation. The report details the Corporation's activities, performance and financials for fiscal 2010-2011.
