How does your team make a difference?

As a team of 13 split between Montreal and Toronto, we protect our domestic and foreign offices. We are focused on confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems.

Why are you a great manager to work for?

I’m passionate about what we do and I want to share my knowledge. I’m dedicated to helping every individual on my team grow. I help people increase their business acumen, to learn more about the media industry and understand the importance of our role. 

What do you look for in team members?

I feel lucky to have the team that I do. These are very specialized personnel in the field of information security. I have people from Telecom, banks and the investment industry. We also have someone from the mining industry and someone from the RCMP. The people on my team truly care about what we are doing and belonging to Canada’s public broadcaster.

What makes CBC/Radio Canada a great place to work?

CBC/Radio-Canada is a pillar of Canadian society. As part of our department, you are protecting a piece of Canadian culture. From a career development perspective, we protect an expansive operation. There are a lot of opportunities for growth, particularly in digital content and the new technologies we are working with. 

What’s the one thing someone who works here is going to find professionally satisfying?

The scale. CBC/Radio-Canada is a huge corporation employing over ten thousand people across more than 50 locations. We produce hundreds of hours of content and exchange a staggering number of electronic communications. It is up to us to ensure the content and information we share and store, everything related to the organization, is secure. It’s a huge responsibility and an incredible challenge.  If you thrive on challenge, you will find it very rewarding.
