“You can say these three letters “CBC” to anyone and it triggers a connection. Whether you’ve grown up watching or listening to the CBC/Radio-Canada, or you are a new immigrant engaging with our entertainment, or you love our digital offerings. Working here means being a part of Canada’s culture and identity.”

How does your team make a difference?

I’m the Executive Director of Media Technology and Infrastructure. We provide the tools to ensure that the news, sports, entertainment and music our audience wants, is delivered. We support the people across the country and on foreign assignment as they create and present content to CBC/Radio-Canada audiences. Without us, you wouldn’t be able to hear, see or find our content.

How has your own career progressed here?

I joined right out of school in 1985. I was attracted to CBC/Radio-Canada’s prestige and reputation. I have worked and lived in four different provinces. Across a dozen roles, I have grown my skills, developed expertise and collaborated with incredible people. I believe that no matter what your goals are, you can achieve them with us. If you have the drive and motivation to express your interest and apply for our jobs, you can do anything here.

What do you look for in team members?

Empathy. Patience. Determination. Passion. The commitment to help someone, maybe even in the middle of the night,  has to be in your DNA.

What makes CBC/Radio Canada a great place to work?

It’s the chance to contribute to our history and our future. You can say these three letters “CBC” to anyone and it triggers a connection. Whether you’ve grown up watching or listening to the CBC/Radio-Canada, or you are a new immigrant engaging with our entertainment, or you love our digital offerings. Working here means being a part of Canada’s culture and identity.

What’s the one thing someone who works here is going to find professionally satisfying?

The knowledge that at the end of the day, every day,  you were a key player in delivering CBC/Radio-Canada’s content to our audience. You can be confident that you are valued.
